A 15-minute drive from Toyako Onsen, a resort hot spring town in Hokkaido. “Kudamono Nouka Hamada-en” in Usu-gun, Hokkaido, is a tourist fruit farm visited by many foreign tourists. They cultivate over 9 types of fruits, including strawberries, cherries, grapes, and apples.
At the farm, you can enjoy seasonal fruit picking from June to the end of October. All-you-can-eat is available within the園 (garden/farm grounds), and fruits for take-home are sold by weight separately. Admission fees vary depending on the season, so please check our website for details.
The fruit we especially recommend you try at the farm is cherries. They cultivate 10 varieties, including “Sato Nishiki,” a representative cherry variety, as well as “Beni Shuho” and “Suimon.”
“Kudamono Nouka Hamada-en” is a vast farm spanning 10 hectares. By utilizing this vast land and planting trees spaciously, the trees receive plenty of sunlight, resulting in sweet and delicious cherries. They also put effort into soil preparation for fruit cultivation, using not only chemical fertilizers but also a special, proprietary compost.
Fruits grown in the special land of Hokkaido differ in color, taste, and firmness. This is due to the unique temperature difference between day and night in Hokkaido. Please enjoy Hokkaido’s fresh fruits, which are different from those found in supermarkets in Tokyo!
In addition to fruit picking, “Kudamono Nouka Hamada-en” also sells Hokkaido’s specialty Genghis Khan, as well as cakes, jams, apple pies, and juices made from fruits grown on the farm. When you visit Toyako Onsen, why not stop by Hamada-en to enjoy delicious fruits and food?
