Kamisato Strawberry & Tomato Farm is a sightseeing farm located just outside of the Kamisato Smart Interchange on the Kan-etsu Expressway.
Various strawberries that differ in color, shape, and flavors can be enjoyed in all their public strawberry greenhouses. You can eat and compare seven varieties of strawberries like Akihime and Benihoppe, as well as varieties that can only be found in this region, like Amarin and Kaorin strawberries, in the very place they’ve been picked. The strawberries on the farm are grown via raised cultivation and are carefully managed. As such, many believe that the deliciousness of these strawberries is entirely thanks to the diligent work of the staff at this farm.
Strawberry picking can be enjoyed from mid-December to late May. Prices will vary depending on the period, however, the 30 minute all-you-can-eat service is 1200 – 2000 yen for adults, 800 – 1200 yen for elementary school students, and around 200 yen for infants three years of age. All prices include tax.
Mini tomato picking, which you can eat and compare from nine different varieties, has a popularity comparable to that of strawberry picking. The sugar content in mini tomatoes is between eight to twelve degrees Brix, which gives them a sweetness that actually isn’t too far off from strawberries. The tomatoes are also grown in raised cultivated in barrier-free facilities so that the elderly and those using wheelchairs can easily pick them as well. Tomato picking through the 30 minute all-you-can-eat service is 600 yen for adults, 400 yen for elementary school students, and around 200 yen for infants three years of age, (all including tax), making this a fun, affordable activity for all ages.
Guests enjoying strawberry or tomato picking at the farm can also enjoy a selection of sweets and coffee at Kamisato Cantare, a facility located within the same grounds, for free. Various fruit and vegetable harvesting experiences, including blueberries ad melons, can be experienced at the farm aside from just strawberries and tomatoes. We’ve been told that a watermelon harvesting experience can be enjoyed at the farm during the summer of 2018.
Freshly picked fruits and vegetables are always available at Kamisato Strawberry & Tomato Farm. By all means, please come and enjoy a harvesting experience together with your family and friends.
