Yamamoto Strawberry Farm

  • Strawberries

Yamamoto Strawberry Farm is full of exciting areas, including 10 large-scale strawberry greenhouses, a cafe, winery, and a Baumkuchen cake bakery. At 3.2 hectares, this is the Tohoku region’s largest farm. The location is also ideal, as the farm is just a 15-minute walk or three-minute taxi ride from Yamashita Station, and five minutes via car after exiting the highway.

Enjoy picking strawberries, such as “Tochiotome,” “Moikko,” “Nikoniko Berry,” and other delicious varieties. We will take you to the best greenhouses of the day so that you can enjoy a comparison of the three varieties. The bright red strawberries ripened in the greenhouses are exceptionally delicious and cannot be found in stores.
The greenhouses are equipped with high shelves so that visitors can pick strawberries while standing, and wide aisles for strollers and wheelchairs.

The café “Berry Very Labo” offers sweets and light meals using strawberries from the farm in abundance. In addition, the farm’s strawberries harvested in the morning are available for sale, as well as special jams and sweets made from the farm’s strawberries, wine, baumkuchen, and other souvenirs. At the winery, visitors can observe the work (advance reservations required: 15 people or more, 550 yen/person/tax included), as well as view the strawberry wine production process and panels depicting the farm’s history after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.

This is a farm with so much more than just strawberry picking. Come and experience the fun of Yamamoto Strawberry Farm for yourself!
