Yamamoto Strawberry Farm

  • Strawberries

Yamamoto Strawberry Farm is full of exciting areas, including 10 large-scale strawberry greenhouses, a cafe, winery, and a Baumkuchen cake bakery. At 3.2 hectares, this is the Tohoku region’s largest farm. The location is also ideal, as the farm is just a 15-minute walk or three-minute taxi ride from Yamashita Station, and five minutes via car after exiting the highway.

At our strawberry picking farm, you can enjoy up to 7 varieties, including “Tochiotome,” “Mōikko,” “Nikoniko Berry,” “Yotsuboshi,” “Suzu,” “Hoshiurara,” and “Yayoi Hime.”
*Please note that some varieties may not be available depending on the season and crowd conditions.
We will guide you to the greenhouse with the best ripened strawberries of the day, so you can enjoy tasting and comparing three varieties. The perfectly ripe, bright red strawberries grown in our greenhouses offer an exceptional taste that you won’t find in stores. Since we use a raised-bed cultivation system, you can pick strawberries while standing. Furthermore, we have secured wide aisles within the greenhouses, making them accessible for strollers and wheelchairs.

At our café “Berry Very Labo,” we offer sweets and light meals generously made with strawberries from our farm. We also sell freshly picked strawberries from the farm, as well as specialty jams, confections, wine, baumkuchen, and other souvenirs made with our farm’s strawberries. Winery tours and baumkuchen baking experiences are also available (reservations required for both).

This is a farm with so much more than just strawberry picking. Come and experience the fun of Yamamoto Strawberry Farm for yourself!
