“Yuho-en Fruit Land” in Kumamoto Prefecture is a farm with a vast area of 6 hectares.
With the desire to “let customers know the joy of harvesting fruits,” they opened a tourist farm about 50 years ago.

At the farm, in addition to 6 types of fruits such as strawberries, pears, grapes, and oranges, you can also harvest chestnuts and bamboo shoots.
The characteristic feature is that you can enjoy harvesting year-round: pears and grapes in summer, oranges and persimmons in autumn, and strawberries from winter to spring.

The pricing system is that once you pay the entrance fee, you can eat all the fruits that are ripe in the garden at that time.
If you want to take fruits home, additional charges will apply.

The farm’s pride is that depending on the season, you can harvest fruits that are fully ripened on the tree.
You can enjoy rich sweetness that is different from fruits found in supermarkets.

The shop “Kawayuka” adjacent to the farm offers flowing noodles and fishing pond services.
You can enjoy flowing noodles around a round table.
Also, you can have the fish (rainbow trout) you catch at the adjacent fishing pond cooked and served.
The hot and fluffy rainbow trout has exceptional deliciousness.

The cafe “Fruit Marche UFO” in the same building serves sweets made with fruits harvested from the farm and local Kumamoto ingredients.
Popular menu items are parfaits and butter sandwiches that generously use seasonal fruits, which are reputed to be delicious.

In Japan, you can harvest various fruits throughout the year. I want people to come and taste seasonal fruits,” says Mr. Tajiri, who operates the farm.
With the desire to provide delicious fruits to customers, he continues to grow fruits today as well.
