Dragon FarmーChiba Prefecture
- Blueberries
- Strawberries
Dragon Farm is a tourist farm located in Chiba city, where visitors can enjoy strawberry picking from the winter months until the spring, and blueberry picking in the summer. Only forty minutes away from Narita Airport and fifty minutes away from Tokyo by car, good access is one reason why this is a popular spot with an ever increasing number of international visitors. Dragon Farm staff are also comfortable accommodating and serving guests from outside Japan.
In any event, Dragon Farm’s main selling point is its many varieties of fruit that can only be eaten here. They have many unusual varieties of strawberries and blueberries that aren’t usually seen at markets, so sample them and find one that suits your taste buds.
In particular, the farm’s blueberry picking is popular. We’ve been told that many customers have been surprised by just how sweet the fully ripened blueberries are. The overriding reason why the blueberries here are so delicious, is that Chiba prefecture’s climate is ideal for blueberry cultivation. Blueberry varieties suitable for cold climates and also those suitable for mild climates, are both grown here, so visitors can take advantage of a lengthy blueberry picking season.
Since the farm premises are barrier-free, visitors in wheelchairs and families with young children in strollers can all have a good time here. Something that is sure to please our visitors to Japan, are the farm’s guided tours in English, allowing everyone to have a worry-free, fun-filled experience.
From the fall of 2017, the farm will add sweet potato digging to its list of activities, meaning visitors can participate in a wide variety of experiences throughout the year.
