In the aptly nicknamed Fruit Kingdom of Fukushima, at the Konno Orchard they grow many different kinds of fruits, including cherries, pears, and apples.<\/p>\n<p>At Konno Orchard, we highly recommend trying our peaches. We cultivate a total of five varieties, including Fukushima&#8217;s representative &#8220;Akatsuki,&#8221; as well as &#8220;Kawanakajima Hakuto&#8221; and &#8220;Yuzora.&#8221; This allows you to enjoy peach picking for approximately one month, from late July to late August.<\/p>\n<p>Here are three ways to tell which peaches are the most delicious, as taught to us by the people at Konno Orchard. First, is whether it is soft and round like a baby&#8217;s bottom. Second, is whether it has lost all of its green tone, and if the coloring is quite strong. And third is whether there are bead-like bumps on the surface of the peach skin. Only those peaches with a sugar content of 13% or more have this sort of texture.<\/p>\n<p>Konno Orchard is where you will find the freshest and tastiest fruits around.
